Campuslichter

Guten Abenda,
On Thursday evening, I went to the Campuslichter with other UT Physics/Astronomy students. After a long week of working from 9-5, this was a much needed break, and a perfect way to end our first week in lab. Campuslichter is an annual light festival on campus with music, food/drinks, and lots of lights!

The festival had some very interesting performance choices – from live orchestra to acrobats.  It was, however, the place to be on Thursday night.

Random observations/scattered thoughts:
1. Campus events seem to be more “celebrated” at Universität-Würzburg as opposed to campus events at UT Austin. Everyone knows about them, everyone wants to go, and everyone actually goes.
2. It is perfectly acceptable to show up late to work on Friday and/or take a half day. It is also perfectly acceptable to not show up to work on Friday if one is hungover. Approximately 25% of the graduate students I work with showed up to lab on Friday, and they were either late and/or left early.
Tschüssb!

Translation of German words:
a. Good evening
b. Bye
